Merriam’s dictionary defines ‘cognition’ as the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses… the mental activities of thinking, understanding, learning, and remembering. The negative side of this definition is what I felt during that period before and into my first year of treatment for Parkinson’s.
